About me

Hi, I'm Sebastian — some guy from Poland who makes money writing code. Most of that money-making happens in Scala and functional programming, and lately I've been learning Rust — slowly, on real code, with plenty of real bugs.

This blog isn't a course and I'm not here to teach anyone. I just like reading and learning about this stuff, and writing it down is how I make sense of it. If something I write turns out to be useful to you, that's a nice bonus — but I'll happily settle for interesting.

So expect honest, first-person posts: what clicked, what made me close the laptop and go for a walk, and the occasional "huh, neat." No promises that any of it is the right way to do things — just my way, written down.

When I'm not staring at a terminal

I try to hit the gym a few times a week — partly to stay in shape, partly to make up for sitting in a chair the rest of the day. I'm an NBA fan, though the timezone means I rarely catch games live; mostly I read the stats the morning after and let the highlights fill in the rest. I play games now and then — not as much as I'd like, never as well as I think I will. And I genuinely love to travel: new places, new food, and getting to know a culture from the inside rather than from a guidebook.
